Bio

Dr. Horwitz was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. He earned his B.S. from Penn State University and his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduating veterinary school, he served two years active duty in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Veterinary Corps. His assignments included a tour with the Navy in Viet Nam where he was attached to the Naval Preventive Medicine Unit in charge of the rabies Diagnostic Laboratory.

Following his military service, he returned to the Penn Vet School for a Post Doctoral Fellowship in dermatology. After completing his fellowship, he became an adjunct Instructor at the Veterinary School.

In 1972, Dr. Horwitz started his veterinary practice in Fort Washington which became the Ft. Washington Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Horwitz and his wife, Susan, have a son and a daughter and three grandsons. He has been very active in the community. He loves to spend time with his grandsons, is an avid exerciser and enjoys traveling (he has even been back to Vietnam).
