Dr. Nelson-Smith is originally from Cherry Hill, NJ. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Zoology and Psychology. She then returned to the Philadelphia area to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, after which she then completed a specialty internship in Emergency and Critical Care. She has since been practicing small animal medicine in a general practice setting. Dr. Nelson-Smith’s medical interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their maltipoo, Penny.
